This bill will benefit New Jersey public schools, as it creates an incentive for individuals to enter the teaching profession in STEM fields, or pursue an additional certification in STEM fields. At the same time, it will help those who decide to enter teaching in the STEM field by helping them repay their loans. With the costs of higher education and the other opportunities available in STEM fields, individuals with degrees in STEM fields often choose jobs outside of public education.
NJEA asks that you vote “yes” on A 211/S 1832.
