Requires school districts to provide instruction on diversity and inclusion as part of New Jersey Student Learning Standards in Comprehensive Health and Physical Education
A 4454 (Murphy and Reynolds-Jackson) NJEA supports incorporating instruction on diversity and inclusion in curriculum for our students. We thank the sponsors for accepting our recommendation to allow instruction to be integrated throughout learning standards. Furthermore, we continue to urge that instruction on diversity and inclusion be incorporated in curriculum at all grade levels, K-12, and not just be a focus of instruction in grades 9 through 12. We look forward to working with the Legislature and Department of Education on this issue moving forward.
