NJEA supports A-4956 (Lampitt)/S-2980 (Ruiz) and A-5324 (Lampitt)/S-2982 (Ruiz). These bills together would ensure that all children in New Jersey continue to have access to a quality public education.
NJEA believes that all children, no matter their background, have the indisputable right to access New Jersey’s excellent public education system. While New Jersey law provides many protections for our most vulnerable children, these bills together would strengthen student access and ensure that procedural roadblocks do not interfere with attending public school. It would also update penalties for anyone who tries to violate New Jersey’s longstanding anti-discrimination principles.
These bills represent important steps forward for continuing to ensure equal access for all students in this state.
NJEA asks you to vote YES on A-4956/S-2980 and A-5324/S-2982.
