Designates July 13th as “Black Lives Matter Day” in New Jersey

AJR171 (Speight, Timberlake, Sumter, McKnight, Carter, Reynolds-Jackson, Wimberly, Jasey, Johnson) As Black Americans continue to face injustice throughout the nation, NJEA recognizes the importance of the Black Lives Matter movement in combating racism and encouraging activism. As an organization that believes in justice and equality for all individuals, NJEA members have joined the Black Lives Matter at School annual week of action to address access and opportunity for all students through increasing awareness and organizing for change. By designating Black Lives Matter Day in New Jersey on July 13, we look forward to joining together with citizens across the state in a day of action and solidarity.
