S 2273 A 20

Requires SEHBP and eligible employers that do not participate in the SEHBP to provide certain plans for public education employees and certain public education retirees

S2273 (Sweeney, Cryan, Greenstein, Gopal, O’Scanlon, Deignan, Brown) A20 (Coughlin, Pinkin, Dancer, Jasey, Reynolds-Jackson,    DeCroce)  This legislation will ensure that educators continue to receive high-quality health care while also lowering their health care contributions, giving them much-needed relief from Chapter 78 mandated contributions. Since it lowers health insurance costs overall, school districts will gain the budget relief they desperately need during these difficult financial times. After a years-long effort by NJEA members advocating for relief from rising health care costs, we are pleased to see this legislation move forward and thank the legislature for working with us.
