Establishes alternate route to expedite certification of teachers at early college high school programs
S 3253 (Singleton, Ruiz) NJEA opposes the bill. While NJEA understands the intent of the bill to expedite certain certifications, New Jersey’s top-notch educational system is built on the strong preparation of our school employees. Despite its good intent, the bill risks unintended consequences for a state that values having the best public schools in the nation. NJEA urges the legislature to reconsider this approach and work with NJEA on other ways to increase the recruitment and retention of school employees that avoids the possible dilution of standards.
