Concerns employment status of individuals with respect to wage, hour and unemployment status
S 4204 (Sweeney) NJEA believes in collective bargaining and workers’ rights. As new avenues of employment emerge for workers, New Jersey law must continue to be strengthened to protect the right to organize and to achieve fair wages. This common sense bill would update New Jersey’s employment law to reflect the realities of the new economy. What’s more, the bill would also ensure that employers play by the rules for all workers across multiple industries, including traditional and non-traditional. NJEA applauds the bill sponsors for bringing forth this much-needed strengthening of workers’ rights.
