S 699: Requires training for DOE arbitrators to include issues related to cultural diversity and bias

S 699

Requires training for DOE arbitrators to include issues related to cultural diversity and bias

S 699  (Ruiz, Singleton)  NJEA believes that a diverse society provides equal access and opportunity for all as a civil right, and we support activities to train individuals to operate effectively in a democratic society. This bill would require that mandatory training for Department of Education arbitrators include issues related to cultural diversity and bias. Making sure arbitrators have the necessary training to act with cultural sensitivity will help in counteracting any bias throughout the arbitration process.

NJEA urges you to support S699.
