SCR 96: Amends State Constitution to prohibit slavery or involuntary servitude

SCR 96

Amends State Constitution to prohibit slavery or involuntary servitude

SCR 96 (Rice, Cunningham) NJEA believes in ensuring equal rights for all citizens and opposes all forms of discrimination. Since the New Jersey State Constitution does not presently contain language regarding slavery or involuntary servitude, NJEA supports adding language to the State Constitution to prohibit both slavery and involuntary servitude, including as punishment for a crime. As a state, we must continue to address past and current injustices, and work to achieve better human relations in our society.

NJEA urges you to support SCR96.
