A 1197 (Jasey, Lampitt, McKnight) NJEA supports this bill which will expand eligibility for food assistance for students age 18-50 enrolled in an institution of higher education. Currently, students must be enrolled at least half time and meet eligibility criteria established by the federal government. This bill will allow those who are receiving unemployment to qualify as well. Students at institutions of higher education.
