A 1372 (Holley, Wimberly, Benson, Mukherji) NJEA supports developing effective ways to protect students, staff, and community members from the dangers of lead exposure. By requiring lead paint inspection prior to home purchases and tenant turnover and establishing educational programs on lead hazards, this legislation will help protect children, their families and the community from this harmful environmental toxin. Taking these steps will go a long way towards improving the health and safety of children.
