Urges President and Congress of United States to continue federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program

A R149 (Moen, McKnight) NJEA believes that every student seeking a college education should not have to graduate under a mountain of debt in order to achieve their dreams. For individuals willing to enter into public service careers, such as education, the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program (PSLF) is a way to inspire service and reward their efforts. By eliminating this critical incentive many students seeking a career in public service will be discouraged. Therefore, we support the Legislature’s efforts to urge the President and Congress to continue the PSLF Program.
