Establishes Mental Health Screening in Schools Grant Program in DOE; appropriates $1 million

S 2259 (Singleton, Ruiz) A 970 (Conaway, Lampitt, Murphy)  NJEA supports this bill, which would create a mental health screening pilot program in schools.  Student mental health is a serious issue.  This pilot program will allow school districts to implement depression screening programs to identify students in the grades seven through 12 who are at risk of depression.  The pilot will provide useful information for future programs.
