Establishes “Male Teachers of Color Mentorship Pilot Program;” appropriates $50,000

S 2829 (Ruiz, Singleton) NJEA supports a diverse workforce and appreciates the sponsors’ commitment to help recruit and retain male teachers of color into the teaching profession. This pilot program may demonstrate one possible way to improve diversity across New Jersey’s classrooms. NJEA looks forward to seeing the results of the initiative and continuing to work with the sponsors on similar efforts in the future.
