Mandates training on culturally responsive teaching for all candidates for teaching certification

S 2834 (Ruiz) NJEA supports ensuring that aspiring educators are provided with culturally responsive preparation, as our classrooms are among the most diverse in the country. The best place for this is in our teacher preparation programs.  Requiring programs to show they teach this as part of the teacher preparation program approval process would ensure new educators enter the profession ready to engage in this practice.
