Permits school nurse who is retired from TPAF to return to employment for up to two years without reenrollment in TPAF

S 3150 A 4544 (Caputo, Jasey, Murphy, Pou, Codey) When this bill first passed the Assembly, certified school nurses could only be reemployed during the health emergency. Senate amendments make it a far different measure by creating a different class of employees within the pension system. NJEA believes every member of the pension system should be treated the same and retirees should not be working in pensionable jobs while collecting a pension. NJEA asks that this bill be amended so that it only allows retired certified school nurses to be reemployed in the aftermath of the COVID-19 health emergency, and not on a permanent basis.
