S 3827 (Weinberg) NJEA supports this critical bill to ensure that the state takes full advantage of the flexibility and funding available under the recent American Rescue Plan. What’s more, the bill gives workers the rights they need to take care of themselves and family members who may be stricken by the pandemic. As New Jersey makes progress to emerge from this crisis, this bill will ensure that people are kept safe and will help prevent the spread of illness. Now more than ever, the state needs smart measures like this to help workers with access to adequate paid leave.
