S 4203 Eliminates requirement for State residency for public school employees

S 4203 (Ruiz, Oroho) NJEA strongly supports this bill which is designed to rectify the unintended consequences of the former residency law. The former residency law, passed under the prior administration, resulted only in increased bureaucracy and hiring challenges for school districts. What’s more, the law was difficult to implement and frustrated educators who were confused about its requirements. NJEA applauds the sponsor for agreeing to add this needed flexibility to our school districts to meet staffing requirements.

NJEA encourage you to vote YES on S 4203.
