S 697 (Ruiz) The harmful effects of lead on children is well documented. New Jersey must make every effort to protect children, families and communities from the dangers of lead exposure. By authorizing common law public nuisance suits regarding lead paint under State law and exempting the State Attorney General from certain aspects of public nuisance claims when pursuing lead paint actions, this legislation will help hold lead paint manufacturers accountable for this harmful environmental toxin.
