S 1800 (Gopal) NJEA believes that schools and communities should ensure that the health and welfare of students are protected. Children from military families often face many educational and social-emotional challenges as they move to new schools due to a parent’s relocation. By establishing a Purple Star Schools Program in the Department of Education, this legislation will help encourage schools in New Jersey to develop practices and services to assist military children as they transition into their new environments.
