A 2212 S 232
Requires DEP to evaluate environmental and public health stressors of certain facilities on overburdened communities when reviewing certain permit applications
A 2212 (McKeon, Vainieri Huttle, Timberlake) S 232 (Singleton, Weinberg, Ruiz) NJEA believes that all students and educators should learn and work in healthy and safe environments. Unfortunately, children and residents of urban communities often face greater risk of chronic health issues due to pollution from energy, water and waste management infrastructure. This bill would provide protection to these communities in our state that are disproportionately impacted by such facilities. As a state we need to work together to protect the health and well-being of our children and fellow residents.
