A 3005
“Mental Health Early Action on Campus Act”; requires institutions of higher education to implement mental health programs and services.
A 3005 (Armato, Vainieri Huttle): Mental health services are essential for students at all levels of schooling. College students experience multiple stressors, whether academic, social, financial, or emotional. This bill is designed to help address the mental health challenges students face on college campuses by raising awareness of mental health and ensuring that institutions of higher education are equipped to help students with any challenges they face. The Covid-19 pandemic has exacerbated the need for services.
