Directs DOE to request waiver of certain student academic assessment requirements from federal government

A 5374 (Lampitt, Jasey, Downey)  NJEA strongly supports this bill and New Jersey’s seeking of a federal waiver for this year’s standardized test. This multi-day exam was never designed to be administered during a pandemic. Forcing schools and students to endure this stress, just as some students are returning to school, is an unjustified misallocation of resources. Focusing on the needs of students, not tests, will help move learning forward into the next school year.
